1、在签证面谈当日，携带好F1签证必备的申请材料及您准备的所有支持性材料。

2、非申请人不能陪同申请人进入签证申请大厅。签证面谈时，每位申请人都必须单独向签证官证明自己的情况。申请人需要事先做好准备，以便面谈时能够在没有亲属或法律代表陪同的情况下单独向签证官说明自己在中国的约束力和此次赴美的旅行目的等。唯一例外的是13岁以下的孩子可以由成年亲属陪同面谈。在某些特殊情况下，残疾人也可以由人陪同，请在面谈前几天将申请人需要有人陪同的原因传真至(86-10) 8531-3333。

3、到达相应的使领馆后请先在外面排队，在预约时间之前等候大约30分钟。
接受安全检查—请不要随身携带任何电子产品， 包括手机。也不要携带背包、手提箱、公文包或手推童车等。申请人只能携带跟签证申请有关的文件。

4、到指定窗口递交签证申请表和材料，之后等待指纹扫描和签证面谈。等候时间大约为3个小时左右。

5、如果您的签证申请得到批准，我们会将签证印在您的护照上并将印有签证的护照在面谈后的五个工作日内邮寄给您。如需加急服务，您也可以选择在面谈之日后的第二个工作日到朝阳区政府下属的签证服务大厅(紧邻使馆签证处入口)内开设的中国邮局自取签证。某些特殊情况，如申请需要进行行政审理、需补充支持材料或需要进行打假调查等可能会影响签证申请的审理速度并推迟签发签证的时间。

6、签证退还所需时间指签证官决定签发签证后将护照和签证退回申请人所需要的工作日天数。请点击链接查看通常情况下签证退还所需时间。请注意：签证申请的审理等候时间不包括进行行政审理的时间。 行政审理需要额外的时间。一旦签证申请需要进行行政审理， 所需时间将视每个申请的具体情况而有所不同。 目前行政审理的平均等候时间是16周

7、穿衣打扮有一定讲究。 衣饰是签证官对你第一印象。尽管很多美国人穿着休闲和随便，但在一些正式场合，他们还是很注意的。穿着要整洁大方，颜色宜庄重一些，头发要梳洗整齐，不要化浓妆。穿戴不要太时髦，要符合自己的学生身份。有的学生浓装艳抹，穿着华丽，让人觉得：这些学生申请F1签证，是去追求西方的生活，F1签证只是去美国的手段和跳板。
学生穿戴有两类：第一类： 非常普通，这类一般适合那些刚出校门没有工作经历、收入的理工科学生和做研究的文科学生。
第二类： 衣着考究而得体，显得有一定社会地位。一般是有工作经历和收入的申请者。有的已经结婚，在事业方面小有成就，为了升迁和高收入，需要去美国深造。

8、不要用太多的体态语言。 有的人模仿西方的讲话方式，夸张地运用表情和动作，以期达到效果，这是不必要的。注意把握身份，适当地用一点是可以的，但要显得自然，不要太做作。活泼的女孩子，稍微用一点也是情理之中。一些体态语言，不是很庄重，尽量要少用。 学生的表现，不能太前卫太西化，让签证官认为您很适应美国的生活方式，不会回国。面试时要求你在言谈举止中要沉稳，有学生气。 沉稳并不是沉闷，举止大方，表现自己有素质、有学问、有报负。去美国学习的学生都是有理想的人，都为自己设定了一个很好的前途。签证官要求你设定的前途，应该是回国之后的前途。
9、 不要太拘谨或紧张。 学生表现也不能太小心，唯唯诺诺。让签证官觉得你没有适应能力，万一在美国得不到奖学金都没法生活，会给美国社会造成负担。所以这类学生也是很难得到签证。切忌在签证官面前低三下四，或者是表现得局促不安，美国人对弱者不很同情，而是更倾向于尊敬有实力的人。 切忌过度紧张。稍稍紧张能够使人注意力集中，处于积极应对状态。但过度紧张，使签证官觉得您把一项单纯的学习变成了人生的重大转折，干系重大，故而特别紧张。有人因为紧张，信心不足，英语听力和口语水平发挥不出来，答话磕磕拌拌，说不好。有一位学生面试拒签后，第二次申请，特别紧张，以致犯了许多错误。
这位学生来到面试窗口，签证官是一位女士，这位学生先打了招呼：Good afternoon, Ma''am.
签证官在对比上次和这次的申请表，忽然问：Why do you change your mind today? （今天你有什么变化吗？）
这位学生本来就紧张，现在一下子懵了。不知道是签证官问什么事，没敢吱声。
签证官以为他没听懂或没听见，又重复了一次。
学生说：In the last time, I was a little nervous...（上一次我有点紧张;; ）
这位学生英语带长江流域一带的方言， ''nervous '' 发成了'' lervous '' 。
签证官说：What? 签证官不明白。
学生说：Sorry, nervous and there is much noise in the lobby. I didn''t hear the officer''s questions clearly. So, maybe, there was some misunderstanding. （对不起，大厅里太吵了，没有听清楚签证官的问题，存在一些误解。）
签证官问：You think it is misunderstanding? （你认为是误解？）
他不知该如何回答。
签证官有些生气：You can''t speak English! （你不会说英语！）
这位学生急得不行： Sir...签证官更觉得有些生气：You call me sir! （你叫我先生！）
学生更正说：Sorry, Ma''am;(不，是小姐;;)
这位学生本来英语是可以的,由于太紧张,错误连出。

10、即使拒签也要保持风度。 有的申请者被拒签后吵闹，这样做其实不仅无济于事，还会影响形象。可以冷静地询问签证官拒签的原因是什么，如果是材料不够齐全的原因，那么可以下次补齐材料。如果签证官明确表示拒签，最好是不要与签证官争辩。 虽然签证官的决定无法上诉，但您可以下次设法提出新的材料，证明自已与中国存在着无法割断的关系，从而排除签证官对自己的怀疑，下次申请获得签证。
