是指一个人红了。。出名了。。成名了，名声大震了。是famous的名词形式。
有点贬义。。

reputation
好的名声，名气，名誉，威望的意思。。。一般是褒义的。
比如：

popularity
流行度，声望，人气很高的意思。。可以作褒义，也可以作贬义使用。。

Her books have been in popularity recently.
她的书近来大受欢迎。

Golf have gained popularity among the wealthy in my country.
