精馏利用液体混合物中各组分挥发度的差别,使液体混合物部分汽化并随之使蒸气部分冷凝,从而实现其所含组分的分离。是一种属于传质分离的单元操作。

对一定的塔来说,空塔流速是有一定限制的。在一定的空塔速度下,塔内蒸汽的体积流量越大,则需要的塔径越大,同理塔径越大,则允许的塔内蒸汽负荷越大,即生产能力越大,因此塔径是影响生产能力的主要因素。
