There is very limited water resource on earth. At present, fresh water, which is drinkable, constitutes only 3% of the earth's overall water, of which 2% are contained in the polar glacier and ice cap which are not usable. Therefore, 80 countries, which constitute 40% of the world's population, are confronted with the crisis of severe shortage of drinkable water.
