citation和reference有什么区别

1、词性不同

而reference不但可以作为名词使用（意思和citation类似），它还可以作为动词使用，表示查阅；参考；给(书等)附参考资料等。

2、引用内容不同

citation是指所引用的内容，可以是名言或者某本书某个研究的观点。例如：

Statistical analysis of citation number and word frequency was made on the data. 

从引文数量分析中得出了最具代表性的作者及期刊。

reference是所有一切所直接引用到的有关联的信息，可以是网页，书籍，报刊，影视资料等。例如：

From there, you use the Add method, 

which creates a document and returns a reference to it. 

从那里，您使用Add方法，这将创建一个文档并返回一个对该文档的引用。

当reference作为名词使用时，有以下用法：

1、作为不可数名词：提到，说到，涉及；它一般采用句式是reference to sb/sth，例如：

This code can be followed by a reference to a specific account.

2、reference作为短语使用时，常和wth搭配使用，固定搭配格式是：with reference to/in reference to，表示关于...，相当于regarding，例如：
